ABOUT US

Dave & Julie | Crossfit SnowDrift Owners

CrossFit Snowdrift is a gym and community that strives to improve the fitness and health level of our members and neighbors. We are composed of members and coaches ranging from collegiate athletes, to busy soccer moms, to sedentary accountants, to grandparents starting their fitness journey, and the list goes on. Our philosophy around fitness is that you put in hard work and effort in class so that when you leave you are able to enjoy the things that matter most.

As you may have guessed, our name is a nod to all things winter. While we find great activities to do in every season, we embrace the chilly months of winter here in Minnesota.

If you haven't, take a look at our bios below, our gym's values, and our mission statement to learn more.

Julie

Trainer + Dave’s Boss

I participated in many sports as a high schooler, ran/walked a marathon in college, trudged through mud races after having kids, and yet I often joke that I was the best Volleyball benchwarmer (I am pretty sure I was given an award that stated as much). All to say, I thoroughly enjoy encouraging others, watching their potentials being reached and new dreams being created. I want to help people move with confidence and build strength so they can enjoy all of the activities with their families and well into their golden years.

MAGGIE

Trainer

My goal as a coach is to provide an encouraging environment where everyone, regardless of age, skill, or fitness level, can have a great workout and enjoy the process. When I first walked into a CrossFit gym many years ago, I hadn’t done much physical activity since college, was significantly overweight, and had never touched a barbell in my life. Since then I‘ve discovered a love of lifting, improved my fitness and have met many new friends in our amazing supportive community. I'm excited to have the privilege to come alongside athletes and empower them in their fitness journey.

Trainer

Being a CrossFit coach has been such a blessing for me and my family. It brings me so much joy to see our clients work hard, have fun and exceed their own expectations in their health and wellness journey. My main goal is to contribute to our community a love of and need for healthy choices for our bodies and minds that bring us closer together and fosters relationships that are trusting, empathetic and give us a greater sense of purpose. I have been coaching athletes (aka anyone who walks through our doors) for 5 years, and I love to learn and take classes regularly. My husband JD and I have 2 beautiful daughters, Allie (16) and Maddie (15).

I have been active my whole life, but my PowerAbTM was getting a bit thick, so I started CrossFit.  My life has been better since I started working out and I started coaching to try and share that progress.  I enjoy keeping things loose, having a healthy amount of banter (encouragement) and coming up with creative solutions.  I want to be relentless in helping you achieve your goals, and even more.  You will see a lot of my family around as my wife (Jessica), kids (Madelynn and Stella) and brother (Mark) are all frequent attendees at Snowdrift.

Never an athlete in my youth, it’s a wonder how I ended up at a CrossFit gym 10 years ago when I turned 50. At the time, my goal was to “tone up” and look more fit, but what I found was a passion for fitness I didn’t know existed within me. CrossFit has changed my perception of what fitness can be in the decades to come, and my goal is to make fitness accessible and fun for athletes of all ages.

In my day job as a board certified health coach, I help people attain their health goals through lifestyle and behavior change.
